DELTA STATE ACTORS GUILD TO COLLABORATE WITH DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT FOR EFFECTIVENESS
The Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh, recently played host to the leadership of the Delta State Guild of actors who came to pay him a scheduled visit at his Prof. Chike Edozien State secretariat.
The scheduled visit is to deepen the root of the Acting Guild in Asaba and chart a new course that will help in repositioning ASABA NOLLYWOOD.
It is well established that Asaba is fast becoming the perfect destination for Nollywood movie productions owing to the amenities on ground that support movie productions.
The commissioner who expressed concern over the leadership structure of the guild and caution the style of leaving the structure of the guild to people who only come during the election just to play the script of the 5th columnist whose major interest is to disrupt a peaceful process and cause confusion withing the ranks of the Guild of actors in Asaba.
It is worthy of reiterating that the 2023 general election is a classical example. Election merchants were sent to Asaba under the guise of Nollywood to cause confusion in the Guild, thereby playing the scripts of their paymaster just to elicit votes from some members of the Guild.
Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh made it clear that the Governor of Delta State,Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is interested in the entertainment industry, which is currently on a jet speed growth. Asaba Nollywood is fast becoming a perfect movie destination that also needs govt regulation to ensure maximum security for the Guild and its acting members.
