THE MORE YD-E7 SERIES IS OUR ROADMAP FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN THE STATE ~Agbeteyiniro

The Delta state Commissioner for Youth Development, on Monday evening  had interaction with journalists at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalist(NUJ) Delta state Council,  Mariam Babangida road, Asaba.

Briefing journalists, Dr Weyinmi Agbeteyiniro took time to explain the policy template and direction of the state ministry of Youth Development, as encapsulated in the MORE YD E7 SERIES .

The policy template MORE YDE7 series, was unveiled by the state Governor, Rt hon Sheriff Oborevwori, on  during the 2023 Africa Youth Day celebration held at the Unity Hall, Government House in Asaba, the state capital.

The Commissioner, Comrade Agbatemiyiro Isaac Weyinmi, told the journalists that the policy is indispensable for youth development in the state as it is built upon seven thematic areas of; Engagement, Education, Entrepreneurship, Employability, Entertainment, Exchange and collaboration, Easing of any form of crime and social vices.

He added that the ministry through its policies is willing to do everything possible to support the youths in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Comrade Agbeteyiniro stated that he is running an open-door and bottom-up policy, and that he has given a platform for a lot of youth to showcase what they are made of.

Comrade Isaac Agbeteyiniro, while responding to the avalanche of questions from a sea of journalists at the press centre, clearly stated that the ministry prioritized engagement, study and differentiation, before arriving at the policy template.

He emphasized the importance and place of the media community in making sure that the MORE YDE7 series is driven to all the needed quarters. Hon Isaac Agbeteyiniro stated that he believe in scientific method  and procedural sequence in approaching his direction.

The Commissioner enumerated the challenges inherent in  youth management owing to the intricacies of the demography, but that the ministry and the state government is ready and capable of addressing the challenges. The commissioner enumerated the various collaborations and partnerships the ministry is engaged in and that more are still being processed.

THE MEDIA COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

The Nigeria Union of Journalists leadership in the state and indeed the media community appreciated his reaching out and indicated disposition to partner with the ministry in it’s efforts to serve the Delta community, by engagements and effective reportage of the activities of the ministry as well as holding it to account.
