DELTA STATE HEALTH COMMISSION IN OREROKPE TO COMMENCE THE REGISTRATION OF GOV SHERIFF’S 10,000 WIDOWS HEALTH SCHEME

The Delta State Contributory Health Commission begins the registration of Governor Oborevwori’s 10,000 Widows Health Care initiative as Dr Isaac Akpoveta lead his management team to Orerokpe today Wednesday 27th of August.

The registration ceremony which held at the Local Government Council Hall in Orerokpe, began with the Delta State Contributory Health Commission team led by the Director General Isaac Akpoveta, alongside the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social investment and state coordinator widows welfare Scheme, Elder (Dr) Isioma Okonta, the Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council and other leaders visiting the palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.

The palace received the team warmly, listened to their mission and gave their blessing. Dr Isaac Akpoveta speaking in the palace of the Orodje, emphasized that Delta state is leading in Health Insurance nationwide by a huge margin and that is chiefly occasioned by the strong political will and magnanimity of the governor. He praised the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Widows initiative as great show of compassion and leadership. Dr Akpoveta said the commission is disposed to ensuring that the recipients receives the best of the good gesture, hence he is personally supervising their registration around the local governments beginning with Okpe Local Government.

The Orodje, His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), who is the state Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, commended the governor for his insight at spotting out the vulnerable in the community. In his address, which was read out by a high ranking chief of the kingdom, he encouraged other well meaning and influencial members of the society to key into this direction of the government. The revered leader of Okpe Kingdom assured the cooperation of the various groups in the kingdom to make it a success.

The registration ceremony commenced proper in the government hall filled with widows from across the local government.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social investment and the coordinator of the Widows Scheme informed the people of the initiative and encouraged the widows to continue to pray for the governor.

The Director General of the Health Commission, Dr Isaac Akpoveta took out time to explain the impact of the kind gesture of the governor to the people and it’s modalities.
He encouraged the widows to continue to support the government of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

The overwhelmed widows were filled with appreciation and prayers for Governor Oborevwori as they were handed access cards.
