DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY: ANIOCHA NORTH IN RESET MODE
ANIOCHA NORTH 2023
pull on to the home stretch of the 2023 Delta State House of Assembly election, in Aniocha North, it will be modest and scientific to state that the local politics has gone into what could be described as a ‘reset’ mode. The reset mode is owing to the power play at the Peoples Democratic Party Primaries in the LGA. Aniocha North Peoples Democratic Party notable for conducting nebulous primaries, should be given credit for atleast conducting a near decent primaries this time and the votes casted actually counted. Nonetheless, the play of power penultimate the primaries have created profound fractures that is obvious and undeniable.
HON EMEKA NWAOBI

In the build up to the primaries were aspirants that some perceived as affront on the sensibilities of party loyalty and efforts. The incumbent Representative of the LGA in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Engr Emeka Nwaobi, who is on his second term, was perceived by many as being a beneficiary of a fraudulent primaries and conspiracy of silence in the two primaries that produced his candidature, and calling for a third term seen as pushing his luck too far. Some others perceived him as not having met acceptable representation in his two terms in the House of Assembly( though still counting). Others perceive him as having and still fighting entrenched political principalities within the Local Government, that have seized and manipulated powers for selves at the expense of the welfare and growth of the LGA. This later group see in him a necessary warrior in the fight of liberation in this context.
MR BAZIM BIOSE
The highly cerebral Abuja based real estate businessman need no introduction in Aniocha North Politics. Me Sally Biose pulled up an amazing political clout penultimate 2019 in his quest to represent Aniocha North in Delta State House of Assembly, but for the manipulations of the establishment. Basim has since moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC) , a party where he is now contesting for the same House of Assembly. He ran a well orchestrated campaign in 2023 with so much energy, passion and huge funds going into it. Many said he was the popular choice, and would have gone on to win the election had he defected to another party after the primary that was perceived to be rigged.
Things are looking up for him this time, owing to a large extent, the covert but noticeable disharmony within the Aniocha North People’s Democratic party. Anti-Party is no stranger in Aniocha North and might hold the swing for Mr Bazim adding to the unusual Political force the APC of Aniocha North is bringing to the 2023 elections.
