ANIOCHA SOUTH BOILS AGAIN AS THUGS INVADE LEGISLATIVE HOUSE DISRUPTS ELECTION OF LEADERSHIP WHILE TRADITIONAL LEADERS SCAMPER FOR SAFETY

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogwashi Kingdom has wielded into the leadership crisis in Aniocha South Local Government legislature. This was to manage the aborted proceeding to elect the leadership of the legislative arm of the Local Government.

Recorded visuals abound that the  Aniocha South Local government council was thrown into chaos, during the process of electing the leadership of the of the house on Thursday 18th of July in Ogwashi Uku.

The journalists who were in the arena monitoring the process, confirmed that the process was going smoothly up till after the election of the deputy leader, Hon Oluchukwu Oyem, who was said to have won with 15 votes out of 20 votes, did some armed group infiltrate the legislative house to disrupt the process. Anonymous accounts has it that some group sensed the pattern of voting and fearing that their candidate will lose overwhelmingly, orchestrated the armed invasion of the legislative chambers, thereby disrupting the process, while the traditional leaders were seen scampering for safety.

However, the need for the political leaders of Ogwashi Uku Kingdom to wield into it to forestall full blown crisis in the volatile local government, that has been in the news in the recent times, became very expedient. Emergency meeting became necessary as the PDP OGWASHI-UKU Kingdom is faced with important political experience. A meeting was convened at the instance of the leaders of OGWASHI-UKU Kingdom and the the following resolutions were said to be reached :

1. The leadership thanked the party faithful for their effort in the just concluded LGA election.

2. The leadership frowns at the debacle on the day of inauguration of the councillors.

3. The leadership call on hon. Leo Nzemeke and HON. Onyekanankea Patrick to see themselves as brothers.

4. The leadership agreed to set up a high powered Committee to resolve the ongoing issues of the leadership of ANIOCHA SOUTH legislative arm.

5. The leadership of Ogwashi Uku Kingdom extends appreciate to Chief Mike NWAUKONI and General Chukwuka Eboji for their support during the campaign.
