Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education and Convener of the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, has hailed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Economic and Investment Summit as a defining moment in the state’s drive towards industrialisation and sustainable economic growth.

Reacting to the summit in Asaba, Ufoh said the governor has demonstrated that meaningful economic transformation requires more than ambitious policy proposals—it demands sustained investment in people, infrastructure and skills.
He identified the administration’s extensive investment in technical education as one of the strongest indicators that Delta State is pursuing a deliberate strategy to build a modern economy capable of attracting investors and creating employment.

According to him, the construction of high-tech technical schools and the provision of modern equipment across educational institutions are laying the foundation for a workforce equipped to meet the demands of emerging industries.

“The Governor’s footprints in technical education have left no doubt about where Delta State is headed,” Ufoh said. “His commitment to developing skilled manpower shows a leadership that understands the relationship between education, industrialisation and economic prosperity.”

He described the Economic and Investment Summit as a natural extension of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, arguing that the conversations taking place at the summit are being reinforced by practical investments already visible across the state.

Ufoh said Delta is positioning itself as a destination for innovation, manufacturing and enterprise, adding that technical education remains central to achieving that ambition.
