The Political rise and continual rise of the Delta State born Political colossus seems to have been called to question. Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who practically have seen all there is to it in state Political leadership, is in the eye of Political storm for acts described as political betrayals both locally in Delta State and in the southern Nigeria.
The media airways is yet to settle from the inundation of the interview on NOL24 TV by the former Minister of state for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, who took a switch at him for acts of insincerity and treachery in dealing with the gubernatorial succession in Delta State. The Delta born Business Mogul was yet again in his usual mode of bare it all, when he celebrated his birthday in his sprawling country home, Iginibo – Ughelli South. The ebullient business man, while addressing the huge crowd that turned out to celebrate him, described the recent Political accomplishment of the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party as an insensitive and selfish inclination that has by it’s nature passed a negative judgement on the entire southern Nigeria.

” I told Governor Okowa to push to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since it is the turn of Southern Nigeria. But little did I know that, either for weakness of mind or premeditated treachery, he had his mind set on the vice Presidency. 
For a northern Fulani man to finish his tenure as president and be replaced by another Northern Fulani is a huge slap on the face of multi-ethnic Nigerian Community, especially the Southern Nigeria.
That my brother is hugely involved in that towering act of treachery is even more embarrassing. It is a vote of no confidence on the entire southern Nigeria even the children yet unborn. Such selfish inclination should never see the light of the day. Now he is under pressure home and abroad”.
The media bare it all display by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike could be said to have placed a stamp of finality to what some southern Nigeria politicians sees as a Political insensitivity. The Maverick Gov Wike fingered his Delta State counterpart as complicit in betraying the Southern Nigeria.
Presidential campaigns are billed to commence on the 28th of September 2022. How this will all play out is yet to be determined, as it could be too early in the day to truly appreciate what colour the outcome will take. Nonetheless, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) dealing with the fall out of it’s choice of Muslim-Muslim Presidential ticket, and the PDP having an uphill task holding the party together as a consequence of the choices it made in their Presidential primary, interesting times definitely are ahead.
