CHIEF Immanuel Edijala, People’s Redemption Party, PRP, Gov’ship Candidate has promised the electorates that he and his team are going to work harder to safeguard our democratic ethos if elected as Governor in the 2023 general election, insisting that he will overcome development challenges occasioned by systemic inequality and exclusion. Truth is that young people are disproportionately impacted and have a larger stake in the next election. The youth will be the biggest losers if they make the mistake of voting those who have consistently been undermining their future. The State needs a Governor that will develop the skills of the vast majority of the youth who have become the best asset available but yet untapped.

The People’s Redemption Party Gubernatorial Candidate made it known that young people with their political participation and inclusion are pivotal. They form the swing voters and must be respected. There are over one billion young people between the ages of 15 and 30 worldwide – half of whom are young women – with diverse experiences and political interests. We want to tap into the interest of the youth by turning out youth with skills that will fit into our industrialization agenda.
The Governorship hopeful says ” If we need forty thousand engineers to build our critical infrastructure and development our digital factories, it should not be a problem under my watch as Governor. If we need twenty five thousand medical personnels, that should not be a problem as I am ready to invest at least thirty percent of our budget in training and acquiring the right skills. In our today’s generation, our youth are struggling to reach social and economic heights desiring of adulthood. Completing school and becoming financially independent has become a mirage. Aside from contending with complex global problems, such as the climate crisis and increased political polarization, the barriers for young people transitioning to adulthood are greater than ever before, all because of effects of bad governments over the years. I am here to redeem our State from these shackles of impoverishment” Edijala said.’

Our democratic institutions have failed woefully to deliver, this is why men like Immanuel Edijala are offering good and accountable government as a way of defending our democracy. Deltans need meaningful opportunities to participate now in the political space. That is why we are taking action and finding new ways to challenge the status quo and make accountability the watchword. This is animated, in part, by a growing dissatisfaction and distrust in past governments in Nigeria at large.

Elect Edijala /Umerah to nurture and secure the right to meaningful youth political participation and women inclusion.

“We will also need to help young people build power and influence through: prioritizing inclusion and targeting the spectrum of young people, including young women with diverse identities; supporting organized youth participation across developmental sectors; fostering intergenerational collaboration to shift attitudes and behaviors that sideline young people; working with young people of all genders to support gender equality through changing patriarchal norms; understanding and embracing new ways of making democracy work; and encouraging a more active role for youth activities. This is the sure way to go as a State that will be an emerging economic power in Nigeria.
