The Director General and CEO of Delta state Contributory Health Commission, Dr Isaac Akpoveta has enjoined the People of Delta state to avail themselves of the health benefits of the Scheme that the Commission has built over time, that is now a national pride.
Dr Akpoveta, who reeled out the various health plans that captured the different segments of the society in an exclusive media interaction with the leadership of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria(OMPAN) Delta state in Asaba, enjoined the Media community to own and bring the good news to the attention of the Delta Community.
The Director General and Chief Executive took time to narrate the roadmap that has seen the commission reach and cross the two million (2 million) mark of enrollees within eight years. The enrolled number accounts for thirty percent (30%) of the state population. ” We have just crossed the two million enrollee mark few weeks ago, which is unprecedented in Nigeria and we are heading to our target of over four million by the year 2030″, he said.
Dr Akpoveta appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who saw the need to appoint him, the pioneer chairman of Board of the Commission vested with policy making, to now manage the Commission as Chief Executive. This, he said, showed the passion and commitment of the Governor. He also appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his foresight and commitment, that ensured the creation and establishment of the commission from mere proposal on paper.
There is plan for every class of the society beyond the equity plan that attends to the vulnerable. From equity to private plan, there is plan to cater for all the social demographics, Dr Akpoveta emphasized.
The Health Commission also has established health plans that enables the blessed individuals in the society, corporations and associations to pay and enroll beneficiaries into the scheme from anywhere in the world. There are initiatives of the commission that has seen the Scheme capture the students in the tertiary institutions within Delta state

The high point of the interactive session was the instant enrollment of the members of the Association in attendance, which was fully paid by the Director General, and access cards issued on the spot.
