The Labour Party Senatorial candidate for Delta North, Engr. Rex Chinye Biose, on Thursday visited members of the Equity Crusaders in Asaba, Delta State.
The meeting, which held in Asaba, is part of Biose’s ongoing consultation with youth groups across the nine Local Government Areas of Delta North ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Biose, who flagged off his senatorial campaign at Issele-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North on September 12, told the Crusaders that his ambition is anchored on his campaign mantra “Competence for a new stride.”
He said Delta North has suffered poor representation despite its vast human and natural resources and vowed to provide accessible, transparent and people-focused representation if elected.
“We need to raise the standard of representation. Governance must deliver measurable benefits at the grassroots. Equity, fairness and justice must guide our politics,” Biose said.
The Labour Party candidate, an Idumuje-Unor born, reaffirmed his support for the Obidient Movement and urged youths to get their PVCs and reject voter inducement.
He listed his priority areas to include upgrading the education system to be transformational, overhauling healthcare, improving electricity, potable water and road infrastructure across Delta North.
The Equity Crusaders, popularly known as Concerned Youths for the Liberation of Aniocha South, said they were mobilizing over two million votes across Delta State for credible leadership anchored on equity and inclusion.
The group, which had previously led protests demanding political balance in Aniocha South, commended Biose for engaging grassroots youth structures, describing him as a game changer in Delta North politics.
The engagement ended with a call for issue-based campaigns and youth participation in shaping Delta North’s political future.
