Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State is set to witness a major political gathering on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027 is formally inaugurated in support of the re-election bid of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.
The movement, founded and convened by the Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, is designed to mobilize grassroots support across Aniocha South for Governor Oborevwori’s second-term ambition while promoting the electoral success of all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, scheduled to hold at Aninshi Primary School, Ogwashi-Uku, will be chaired by Architect Kester Ifeadi, while Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
According to the organizers, the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027 is built on the conviction that Governor Oborevwori’s administration has delivered remarkable dividends of democracy across Delta State through his MORE Agenda. The movement believes the Governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, rural development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance have earned him the confidence of Deltans for another four-year mandate.
In Aniocha South, supporters of the movement point to several developmental projects and political inclusiveness enjoyed by the area under the Oborevwori administration, including road infrastructure, strategic appointments of sons and daughters of the local government into key government positions, and sustained government presence in various communities.
As Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ufoh has consistently highlighted the Governor’s commitment to strengthening technical and vocational education through the upgrading of technical colleges, improved learning facilities, provision of modern equipment, and policies aimed at equipping young people with practical and entrepreneurial skills.
Beyond its political objective, the inauguration will also feature an empowerment programme during which sewing machines and grinding machines will be distributed to beneficiaries as part of efforts to encourage self-reliance and support small-scale entrepreneurship within the local government.
Hon. Smart Ufoh is expected to use the occasion to call on members of the Smart Movement, APC stakeholders, women, youths, community leaders, and residents of Aniocha South to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections. He is expected to urge supporters to campaign vigorously for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election and work collectively to ensure that Aniocha South delivers overwhelming votes for the Governor and all APC candidates under the party’s “5/5” electoral agenda.
Political observers see the inauguration as another significant step in the growing wave of grassroots mobilization across Delta State as support groups continue to consolidate backing for Governor Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
